Picture of the Week

Since it is a wednesday, here is the picture of the week:

This picture was taken at a resort in Cost Rica that I visited when I was on a trip in May. Doesn't it look like a magazine? I love remembering moments like these where I was completely happy and full of peace. :)

I wish I could have that type of serenity at all moments of my life.

3 You will keep in perfect peace
   those whose minds are steadfast,
   because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3

Happy Wednesday!

A New Year....A New Blog

Welcome to my blog!

As I was thinking through some of my new year's resolutions, I decided that I needed to start blogging again. It is hard living in KY and not being able to stay caught up with everyone back at home, as well as family and friends around the world. Hopefully this will be a great way to stay a little more in touch :)

This is how it's going to work: each week, I am going to share the following things with you--

Sunday will be a verse/ devotional for the week
Monday will be a health/fitness tip
Tuesday will be a Mary Kay make-up/ skin care tip
Wednesday will be a picture
Thursday will be a yummy recipe
Friday is an update on the wedding
and Saturday is an update on how the week went and what is in store for the following week

Seeing that it is Saturday, here is my weekly update:

I am currently and my soon-to-be in-laws' home spending time with my fiance who is sleeping on the couch  watching Michigan get killed in the bowl game. It has been such a blessing to get to be at home the past few weeks and spend time with family and friends. Times like these really help me to put my worries and stresses in perspective and gain a new outlook on life.

Today is also New Year's Day! So, I will share some of my resolutions:

  • Lose 10 lbs by the wedding
  • workout 5 days/week
  • take vitamins
  • drink 48 oz of H2O / day
  • eat less sweets
  • shop more locally and fair trade
  • save more money (it will be interesting to see how those two work out together :)
  • Implement the fruit of the Spirit into my everyday life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

Those are just a few off of a big list. :) What are some of your resolutions? Comment and share them with me!
